Photography.
Last summer, on a sunny day in Defiance OH.
My grandparents packed up, and left a house with so many memories, to come move into our duplex home in Westerville OH, 2hrs & 3mins away.
So naturally I wanted to take pictures of this beautiful structure. I didn't want to forget the wonderful memories of my whole family there, and after took the pictures, we said our goodbyes. About a 24hrs later I posted them on Facebook. People enjoyed them, and let me know. I enjoyed taking them. So I thought to myself... "what the heck? i should take more!" ...and so it began, throughout the warm summer I took pictures of me and my adventures.
Then in August my parents told me that "they had to talk to me" so I went into my grandparents room with them and they told me if I stopped taking dance lessons; I could get a brand new camera. (a Canon Rebel XSi to be exact) It was kinda a big decision... and in about 3 minutes... I took it.
2 weeks later, with a very big smile on my face my mother and I went to Wal-Mart. We went to the back of the store where all the cameras were, and there it was - my camera. we purchased it, a warranty which we needed, and then ventured home. When we got there I opened it up, then after 2 hours of eagerly waiting for the battery to charge. I was introduced to a whole new world. I couldn't stop taking pictures of anything and everything. The clear, sharp image that came up after I pressed the shutter button amazed me every time.
The more and more pictures I took, the more and more albums I put up on Facebook. I was in love. Now, you might think i'm crazy.... well I am. But most people don't understand the feeling you get when you take a picture, getting the right angle of a flower & being able to capture one moment of Gods creation... is magical.
Now fast forward to October. (fast forward noise the VHS movies make) My family hadn't taken a family picture in a long time, and when I say a long time, I mean a long time. So my mother knowing I take pictures (well I mean of course she would since she bought me the camera) wanted me to take our family pictures. And so we did. Everybody that day was in a really bad mood, but the pictures came out fabulous. & Now the pictures are hanging up in our house.
Anyways, my neighbor saw them, and about 10 days later, I took pictures for that same lovely neighbor... and she payed me. SCORE!
I then decided, I needed a new laptop. That was $1000. You might think a 15 year old girl would not be able to be responsible enough to save up that much money, so did my family. I kept on saving though. I then took more pictures of my lovely neighbor again the friday after Thanksgiving, and she payed me. SCORE AGAIN!
Then after about 5 months of saving, babysitting, cleaning bathrooms, and begging. I finally got to order my refurbished MacBook on Apple.com.
After about 3 days, the FedEx guy knocked on my door, and I practically hugged him.
Ever since then, Me, Delilah the MacBook, and My Camera have lived happily ever after. Still continuing to take pictures, frolick in flowers, have sleepovers, and tell secrets.
God has blessed me & I'm so happy to share my life through the lens!
