Biking Adventure.

Hey there, recently, since it's the summer and I have more time on my hands than usual, I decided to go to the library more often. And since my mom was way too busy to take me there today, I decided that I could just ride my bike. It is about 11 minutes on the bike trail.

So I hopped on my bike, shoved my iPod earphones in my ears, and took off. About 2 minutes into the trail... I was actually enjoying it, wind in my hair and all that other cheesy stuff. It wasn't that bad until I got close to my destination and I forgot where to go, so I turned on this one road... it was the road the library was on, but it took longer than the bike trail, and I had to pass people which was really awkward. After that I got to the library, found a bike rack, and hoped that nobody would steal my bike because I didn't have a bike lock.

I walked into the library, returned a couple books... and headed to the teen section. When I went in there, you know it's quiet so it seemed like everyone was staring at me but you know they weren't, but since I was out of breath it kinda seemed like they were... anyways I tried to go as fast as I could and grabbed about 4 books, saw a really cute guy that I will probably never see again.... then checked out. I got on my bike again and headed home.

Now, since this is the first time I ever took a bike ride thingy by myself without going to some type of food place, I didn't really think about getting a water or anything. So about 5 minutes into the way home, I felt like I was going to die. I'm pretty sure the people who passed me and smiled could tell. I kept going and I saw a little birdie drinking out of a puddle and I got really jealous... but then I thought if I drank out of it, I would probably get some disease and it would be really embarrassing if I had to tell how I got it.

Then about 3 minutes later into the ride, I was like certain I was going to die right there, I stopped, sat down... and a couple minutes later I was on the bike trail AGAIN. I then decided I wanted to change gears because I was like on gear 6 and it was getting kind of difficult. Well when I did that, my chain decided it wanted to get stuck... and therefore I was stuck. I tried to act normal when people walked by, but it was not working. I tried to fix it like 5 times while getting oil all over my hands and after the 6th I just started to peddle, even if it wouldn't budge. It finally worked. But then accidentally I changed the gears again... whoops.

After I fixed it again. I kept going... still dying... hoping I wouldn't make a huge scene when I fell off. Then I saw these two guys who were clearly pros because they had those idiot tight shorts, shirts, and helmets. I felt like one of them said something to me but I wasn't sure. I took a turn, kept going, and all I could think about was this water fountain not to far away at a park... and how I was going to pass out if I wouldn't get there. I saw a different park though, and as I got closer I saw a water fountain and thank God there WAS one. I wanted to run to it but I had no energy, and once I got to it, there was a piece of bread with some type of meat. Lovely. I took a drink anyways, trying not to think about it, but then the water was warm.

THEN I looked at my bag and saw I got oil on it. Whatever. I got back on my bike knowing I was only about 5 minutes away. I passed the basketball courts with a bunch of people. Then back on the bike trail. I got to my neighborhood knowing if I passed out now it would just be stupid. So I kept going.

I got on my street and with a little bit more of energy... I got home. As I was peddling to the driveway, Katie was saying to me "Wow, you look like you got hit by a car" and my mom was saying "what happened? you have black all over your face" Anyways, all that to say, when you decide to take a bike ride, be prepared... or just wait another day for your mom to drive you.
