Photography Probz.

So for a couple months I just hadn't been in to photography.

I wasn't sure why, but I didn't really care that much.

I look back at it now & I just feel like I compared myself to everyone I knew.

It's a very dangerous thing to start doing & it was kind of eating me up inside.

I felt like every picture I took was a copy, & it wasn't something I wanted. I felt like everyone was in to photography & anyone could do it so why try. I looked on instagram everyday & just thought about how peoples pictures were so amazing & I could never compare to them especially because they had thousands of "likes" on them. It got depressing after a while. 

I went to my aunt Ruth's house last week though.

She used to be a photographer & she took pictures of anything & everything & everyone.

She has thousands of pictures in boxes & albums & frames & she also has a BUNCH of cameras.

She was truly an amazing photographer.

I looked at one of her pictures & one of them looked straight out of Instagram that would get her thousands of followers. & after looking at more of her pictures I just thought about how they didn't have Instagram back in the day. She didn't care about how many likes or followers she got. 

She took pictures truly for the joy of it.

Some people won't see her pictures & she doesn't even care.

She was talented & just loved capturing moments in her life.

I had lost my joy of it.

I wasn't doing it just because I enjoyed it anymore.

I was scared to take pictures because I wasn't getting bunches of likes & I wasn't the best.

But after aunt Ruth's house, it made me rethink my ways.

I found joy in it again this week.

& after months of not taking pictures, 

I picked my camera back up.

I realized that if it's truly something I love & something that God has put on my heart,

it doesn't matter if I become famous. 

I'll be just fine.
